Sporting and Out of School Events
We encourage participation in sports tournaments at our neighbouring primary and secondary schools. We endeavour to take groups of our pupils to participate in Tag Rugby, Football and Netball tournaments. As our participation in the School’s sports partnership grows we aim to increase the number and types of tournaments that we will enter.
We have 3 themed learning weeks each year that aim to enhance children’s learning experiences across a range of areas. These can be based around Expressive Arts, Business and Enterprise and Healthy Schools and many more topics planned for future years. We are a registered Young Enterprise school and have both the Arts Mark and Healthy School’s Status.
Opportunities are also made for our pupils to take part in curriculum events at local secondary and grammar schools. We attend the Primary Maths Challenge among others. Attending pupils return to school enthused by the experiences that they have gained working with pupils from other schools.
We have a number of awards from the LAFTAs (The Lincolnshire Award for Film and Animation) and have been able to take children with nominated films to the event held in Lincoln's Engine Shed and hosted by Jim Broadbent. This is an experience we try to give each year.
