Metheringham Primary School is committed to providing a full and efficient education for all pupils. The school believes sincerely that all pupils benefit from the education it provides and therefore from regular school attendance. To this end the School will do as much as it can to ensure that all pupils achieve maximum possible attendance and that any problems affecting attendance will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
All pupils are expected to attend regularly unless the are medically unfit to do so. Any attendance of 90% and below is now considered to be in the persistent absentee category. This will require close monitoring by the school and intervention by the appropriate support services unless there are extenuating circumstances contributing to the identified poor attendance.
We reward pupils termly for 100% attendance and each class competes for the termly attendance trophy. The class attendance for each term is celebrated in the attached documents.
